“35% less” is one flavour of spin.

“Slightly more than half the price” is another.

Both accurate.

Autofocus will be faster, or Fujifilm’s engineers are asleep.

It might be more appropriate to say that the new camera costs approx 35% less than the older model. But either way, wait and see the official announcement, what else is different? I wonder if the autofocus will still behave the same.

“Less than $1,000″ vs $1,700.

That’s 70% more than the former, with the only main difference being the hybrid viewfinder.

And the X-E1 still has a viewfinder, so no need to shoot from the LCD screen.

Well, first off, I think it’s a bit of an exaggeration to say that it’s 70% of the camera’s cost. And I prefer shooting in most circumstances with a viewfinder rather than an LCD screen.
