So I’m sitting at home yesterday wondering what to do with myself. I look out the window and see clear blue skies and I figure, great!, grab the gear and head up to Fei Ngo Shan. That’s one of the few mountains in HK where one can drive to the top, there’s a great harbor view from there and it’s just 20 minutes from my home.
What I didn’t count on is that I live in Hong Kong’s New Territories, separated from Kowloon by a ring of mountains and that on the other side of those mountains it would be nothing but dismally grey. Here’s a shot that’s straight out of the camera, nothing done to it except to convert to JPG and resize it.
I was there, right? So I set up the tripod and camera and took some shots – practice if nothing else – and hoped that if I waited long enough things might clear up. But the clouds weren’t moving at all and after an hour I was seriously sweating so I gave up. Anyway, here’s a few shots from the day.
In the photo above, you can see construction well under way for Hong Kong’s new cruise ship terminal. Here’s a closer view:
A couple of mountain top installations.
I think this one has a dreamy quality to it:
I’ll be back there again.
