I guess it would be fair to say that Amazonia is one of my frequent watering holes in Hong Kong. One reason is that it’s one of the few bars where I actually like the music. The bands there are Filipino cover bands but Icebox, the band that’s played there for several years, is a cut above most of the other bands. They really rock and they’ve got a great lead guitarist. There’s a new “second” band there now called, if I’m not mistaken, the Rocking Zebras. Yeah, well. Anyway, I was there for Amazonia’s 5th anniversary party a couple of weeks back, Fuji X100 in hand, and here are some of my favorite shots from that night.
First, some photos of Icebox:
Here’s Icebox’s guitar master, Willie:
Second guitarist Edwin:
And lead singer, yes same name as mine but spelled differently, Spyke:
And here’s the Rocking Zebras. Or is it the Rockin’ Zebras?
