Scan of a photo I took of the great David Peel in Washington Square Park, New York City, circa 1972. I had of course taken several of him that day and this was his favorite. We remained friends for awhile, losing touch after I left NYC in ’73.
Peel is more famous for his friendship with John Lennon and Yoko Ono and his album on the Apple label, The Pope Smokes Dope, caused quite an impact on its initial release. Forty years later, he’s still recording and performing live in New York City.
